Visited the LBJ Museum in Austin during Trump 1. For all LBJ’s faults, while watching the presentation about him in the Introductory Theatre, tears welled up in my eyes as I thought about the contrast with that soulless narcissist Trump.
With the Cuban Missile Crisis and the Cold War at large, we also have to credit Vasily Arkhipov and Stanislav Petrov, who could have set into motion a nuclear war but chose not to.
Great contrast between LBJ and Trump, but who took that photo if it was 4 AM and he was alone? LBJ was decent enough or smart enough to step down, something DJT will never do. He's probably wondering how many nukes he'd have to use to get people talking about that instead of Epstein. (BTW is Hegseth a reincarnation of Rumsfeld who seemed a reincarnation of McNamara, getting worse each time around? Those guys really remind me of each other.)
You really believe his was posturing in agony of lives lost? I see the agony over lost power! What I do agree that orange possum won’t be even to come to terms with him Losing his base!
All true. But: The sociopathies of Trump and Netanyahu differ. The former’s is pure narcissism. People — including his own — are immaterial to his whims even if these are deadly. The latter’s — while far more deadly — is, and always has been, in furtherance of his own political fortunes, certainly, but also for the people of the country he governs. No one in a democracy gets to and keeps himself in power without public buy-in. It’s easy to point to the pathologies of individual leaders. But that risks letting off the hook the millions who cheer them on and keep voting for them.
Trump is far too great a narcissist to launch a war that would end his own life, except if his own death was imminent or he had access to a 100% nuclear-proof protection (which doesn't exist, aoart from the fantasies of the gullible tech-bto billionaires).
Trump would not focused on amassing billions via extortion, embezzlement, and corruption if he planned to annihilate the world.
Do you really believe there’s a way to stop these people? They have no understanding of the consequences of war because war is just a game on a screen. They won’t let us take their toys away.
It's now becoming impossible to try and find the right words to describe my feelings about the men that are prosecuting this abhorrent war.
I hope that the future commentators, scholars and those that hold power will find the appropriate language that these monsters deserve.

@MJRosenberg Many think Putin and Saudi or Bibs or some combo control Dump.
How would nuclear war help them?
Putin thinks he will live forever and is trying to. He wants an Empire. So not annihilation
I don’t know much abut Saudi exc they are strategic, rich and subtle and MURDERERS . Not motives I can guess. They would be close to nuclear blast.
I do know war solves nothing, causes more hate and death to innocents and makes others rich.
War - what is it good for?
Absolutely nothing. Say it again.
U.S. involvement in Vietnam was far from the work of one president https://dh.scu.edu/exhibits/exhibits/show/vietnam-war-from-truman-to-nix/harry-truman
