Ta-Nehisi Coates with Chris Hayes on Israeli Apartheid

There is so little cause for joy these days. But I found some in the news that Ta-Nehisi Coates has addressed Israeli apartheid in his new book, “The Message.” At long last a writer or journalist so huge that the Israel lobby cannot destroy has taken on the issue of Israel and its fundamental nature as a bastion of apartheid. It is now the #1-selling nonfiction book in America.

Naturally, the hordes of Israel apologists are out to get him, as described in this piece in The New Republic. but they will fail. This book, coming out at this time, by this author is a game changer or it would be if the game was not already changed by Israel’s one-year onslaught against the Palestinians. The Chris Hayes interview with Coates is below.

And I need to say that while Coates is likely immune to being purged by the lobby, Chris Hayes who works for NBC is not. He is a brave man. Contrast him with MSNBC’s biggest star Rachel Maddow (no, she is not Jewish) who never even mentions Israel or the Palestinians. Like Coates, and unlike Hayes, she is too big to be purged but not to see her salary bonuses affected, which she will not risk. In Yiddish, Chris Hayes is what is known as a shtarker.
